Outstanding people have one thing in common: An absolute sense of mission.
Thankful Missionary Baptist Church of Chattanooga has been called and appointed by God to serve this community for His glory. We purpose and are committed to fulfilling our mandate and vision, “Fellowship, Discipleship, Worship, Ministry, and Evangelism”
We at Thankful Missionary Baptist Church are believers in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and are committed to sharing the Good News of eternal salvation through that belief to a lost and dying world. We believe the Bible is God’s Word and is our guide for faith and practice.
Our church is a member of the Hamilton County Baptist Association. We build our church activities around the five Scriptural church functions: Fellowship, Discipleship, Worship, Ministry, and Evangelism.
Living the Great Commission
Moments before Jesus ascended into heaven he told his followers, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth. (Acts 1:8)” He was commanding his followers to be His witnesses in their hometown (Jerusalem), their region (Judea and Samaria), and their world (the remotest parts of the earth). Thankful believes that we, too, are called to actively spread the Gospel message and love of Jesus Christ both near and far. We accomplish this through direct missions, community outreach, and supporting missionaries.
